Sobeys Inc. is a national supermarket chain in Canada with over 1,500 stores operating under a variety of banners. Headquartered in Stellarton, Nova Scotia, it operates stores in all ten provinces and accumulated sales of more than C$25.1 billion in the fiscal 2019 operating year.
In February 2014, it was announced that Overwaitea would purchase 15 stores from Sobeys, three in Alberta and twelve in British Columbia. The stores purchased were under the Safeway, Thrifty Foods and Sobeys banners and all were converted to become Save-On-Foods stores.
Since August 2022, and gradually rolling across Canada, Scene+ points can be earned and redeemed at its grocery store (such as Sobeys, Safeway, FreshCo, Foodland, IGA, and Thrifty Foods) and pharmacy and convenience store (Lawtons and Needs) chains.
